Mumbai Police registered a case under criminal intimidation and launched an investigation into the threat.
A 26-year-old suspect from Vadodara, Gujarat, identified as Mayank Pandya, was detained; he is reportedly mentally unstable and undergoing treatment.
The threat follows years of repeated targeting of Khan, including last year’s gunfire attack outside his Bandra residence by suspected members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Security around Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments home has been further intensified as investigations continue.
