Overview
- All six episodes drop on BBC iPlayer at 6am on Sunday, Oct. 12, with episode one airing on BBC One at 9pm the same day.
- Set in Hebden Bridge, the drama follows five women who form a punk band for a local talent contest as they navigate careers, caring duties and relationships beyond menopause.
- The band is led on screen by Joanna Scanlan (Beth), Rosalie Craig (Kitty), Tamsin Greig (Holly), Lorraine Ashbourne (Jess) and Amelia Bullmore (Yvonne), with Taj Atwal, Chandeep Uppal and Macy Seelochan as backing singers.
- To ensure authenticity, the actors learned their instruments and rehearsed together, performing original songs written for the series by Brighton duo ARXX; Wainwright also learned drums and directed three episodes.
- Filmed in West Yorkshire locations including Hebden Bridge and Halifax, the show held a local premiere at Hebden Bridge Picture House on Oct. 7.
