Overview

• All six episodes are available on BBC iPlayer from 6am Sunday, with episode one broadcast on BBC One at 9pm.
• The main cast features Joanna Scanlan, Rosalie Craig, Tamsin Greig, Lorraine Ashbourne and Amelia Bullmore, with Taj Atwal, Chandeep Uppal and Macy Seelochan as backing singers.
• The story tracks a teacher, a police officer, a pub landlady, a midwife and a shoplifting freeloader who enter a local talent contest and reclaim a sense of purpose through music.
• Filming took place across West Yorkshire, including Hebden Bridge’s The Albert pub, Shibden Hall, Hardcastle Crags, Mytholmroyd and locations in Halifax.
• Original songs are by Brighton duo ARXX with input from Wainwright, and the principal actors learned instruments to perform as a real band.
