Sally Field Reveals Burt Reynolds' Jealousy Over Her Oscar Success

In a new book, the actress claims Reynolds refused to attend the 1980 Oscars due to her rising stardom.

Sally Field, in a new book, '50 Oscar Nights', claims that her ex-boyfriend Burt Reynolds was jealous of her success and refused to accompany her to the 1980 Oscars, where she won for her role in 'Norma Rae'.
Reynolds, who dated Field for five years in the late '70s and early '80s, also did not want her to attend the Cannes Film Festival, where 'Norma Rae' was being screened.
Field, who was at a loss about not having a date to the Oscars, was accompanied by comedian David Steinberg and his wife, who made the event a big celebration for her.
Field has previously written about her relationship with Reynolds in her memoir, 'In Pieces', stating that he was a significant part of her life but only for a short period.
Reynolds, who passed away in 2018, had expressed regret about not fighting hard enough for his relationship with Field.
