Salida Police Hunt Three Suspects in Home Invasion Tied to Venezuelan Gang

Detectives say the Nov. 2 attacks began in Buena Vista before the suspects forced their way into the wrong Salida home.

  • One suspect, 24-year-old Daviler Brito Ibarra, was arrested in Denver on Nov. 6 and booked into the Jefferson County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
  • Arrest warrants remain outstanding for 41-year-old Carlos Garcia Reyes and 25-year-old Wisan Ruiz on multiple counts that include conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.
  • A separate warrant was issued for 41-year-old Miguel Polo by Buena Vista police on a charge of solicitation to commit murder.
  • Police say two people in the Salida residence were held at gunpoint for about 20 minutes and assaulted after suspects followed an earlier Buena Vista victim to the area.
  • Authorities report the three at-large suspects may be in Chaffee County and ask anyone with information to contact Salida or Buena Vista police or submit a tip to Chaffee County Crime Stoppers.
