Salesforce Relaunches Slackbot as an AI Agent, Now Available to Business+ and Enterprise+ Users

The tool runs on Anthropic’s Claude with access limited to each user’s existing permissions, positioning it as the conversational gateway to Salesforce’s Agentforce.

Overview

  • General availability began January 13 with a phased rollout through February that lets admins control or restrict access.
  • Slackbot summarizes threads, drafts documents and notes, retrieves files and data, and can find time on calendars or prepare meeting briefings inside Slack.
  • The agent can pull information from connected services including Salesforce, Google Drive, Box, and Atlassian Confluence, with initial support for select calendar integrations.
  • Salesforce reports strong early use internally and among pilot customers, citing time savings and widespread employee adoption.
  • The company is testing alternative models beyond Claude and plans broader integrations and capabilities such as web browsing and voice.
