  • Sairaj Rajesh Pardeshi of Maharashtra set new youth national records in snatch (140kg), clean & jerk (172kg), and total lift (312kg) to win gold in the 81kg category at KIYG 2025.
  • Andhra Pradesh’s M. Tarun and Uttar Pradesh’s Aayush Rana secured silver and bronze in the 81kg category with lifts of 287kg and 264kg, respectively.
  • Arunachal Pradesh’s Tayar Ronik captured the state’s first-ever KIYG weightlifting gold in the 73kg category with a total lift of 267kg, narrowly beating Assam’s Hemanta Doimari.
  • Andhra Pradesh’s Gujjala Varshita won gold in the youth girls’ 64kg category with a total lift of 174kg, while Maharashtra’s Tanuja Subhash Pol claimed gold in the 59kg category with a lift of 171kg.
  • Pardeshi, training under SAI’s high-performance program, plans to move to the 88kg weight class in anticipation of upcoming IWF category changes, aiming for future Olympic success.
