Weaver, 44, is in his first season as Miami's defensive coordinator and has extensive experience as a position coach in the NFL.
Other candidates interviewed by the Saints include Aaron Glenn, Joe Brady, Kellen Moore, and interim head coach Darren Rizzi, who went 3-5 after Dennis Allen's dismissal.
