Saints Fire Longtime Offensive Coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr. and Two Other Coaches

Despite Offensive Struggles and Missed Playoffs, Head Coach Dennis Allen Retains Position

The New Orleans Saints have fired offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr., senior offensive assistant Bob Bicknell, and receivers coach Kodi Burns.
Carmichael, who has been with the Saints for 18 years, took over play-calling duties after head coach Sean Payton left the club following the 2021 season.
The Saints' offense, led by 10-year NFL veteran quarterback Derek Carr, ranked 14th overall in yards per game with 337.2, but often stagnated in clutch situations.
The team converted just 53.3% of red zone opportunities into touchdowns, ranking 18th in the league.
Despite the firings, head coach Dennis Allen will remain with the Saints, who have gone 16-18 under his leadership and missed the playoffs for two straight seasons.
