Saint John Man Charged With Second-Degree Murder in Wife's Christmas Eve Death

Diego Alejandro Osorio Angarita, 26, appeared in court after his wife, Nicsy Arboleda Rodriguez, was found fatally injured on a Saint John street.

Nicsy Arboleda Rodriguez, 30, was found unresponsive on Lancaster Avenue in Saint John early on Christmas Eve and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Her husband, Diego Alejandro Osorio Angarita, has been charged with second-degree murder and made his first court appearance on Friday.
The couple, originally from Colombia, had been living in Saint John and working together as sous chefs at a local restaurant for about seven months.
Police have confirmed that the victim and the accused were known to each other but have not released details about the cause of death to protect the investigation.
A GoFundMe page initially set up to assist with returning Rodriguez's body to Colombia has been taken down, with police ensuring funds are redirected to her family.
