Overview
- Sainsbury’s and Uber Eats announced on Wednesday that Nectar members can now collect one Nectar point for every £1 spent on eligible Sainsbury’s groceries ordered through the Uber Eats app or website.
- The scheme is live at participating stores with a wider rollout covering more than 1,300 UK locations and applies only when shoppers enter their full Nectar card number at checkout.
- Qualifying points require a minimum £1 spend, will be credited to accounts within 28 days, and cannot be added retrospectively if a number is missed at purchase.
- Several product categories are excluded from earning points, including gift vouchers, baby milk, lottery tickets, tobacco, vapes, proprietary medicines, spirits and liqueurs, with extra alcohol restrictions in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
- The move builds on Nectar’s existing tie-up with Uber that already lets members spend points on Uber rides and Uber Eats vouchers and signals growing integration between supermarkets and rapid-delivery platforms that could shift how customers shop for last-minute and convenience items.
