• On the evening of June 17 in Allensbach am Bodensee a man was severely injured when his sailboat mast touched the railway’s overhead line as he transported the boat on a handcart.
• Emergency responders airlifted the injured man to a hospital by rescue helicopter in serious condition.
• The impact damaged the overhead line and initially forced Deutsche Bahn to close the Radolfzell–Konstanz route before restoring limited single-track service.
• DB has set up a replacement bus service between Radolfzell and Konstanz to maintain connections while crews complete repairs by midday on June 18.
• The affected RE2 Karlsruhe–Konstanz line is a popular regional and tourist corridor along Lake Constance.
