Saif Ali Khan Stabbed in Bandra Home During Burglary Attempt

The Bollywood actor underwent emergency surgery and is recovering after being attacked by an intruder identified as an illegal Bangladeshi immigrant.

Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times by an intruder during an attempted burglary at his Bandra residence on January 16, sustaining injuries to his spine, neck, and hands.
The attacker, identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, a Bangladeshi national who entered India illegally, was arrested in Thane after a three-day manhunt involving extensive CCTV analysis.
Police revealed the intruder climbed to the 12th floor using a pipe and entered through a bathroom window, evading detection due to gaps in security measures like sleeping guards and lack of CCTV coverage.
Saif underwent a five-hour emergency surgery to remove a 2.5-inch knife blade lodged in his spine and was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on January 21; he is now recovering at home with heightened security measures in place.
The incident has raised concerns over illegal immigration and border security, with calls for stricter measures following the attack.
