Homegrown talent takes center stage through a fully Valencian Off program that includes community mediation with neighborhood residents

Overview

  • The festival will present 18 proposals from July 31 to August 23, including nine mainstage shows at the Teatro Romano and nine Off events in Sagunt and Port de Sagunt.
  • Nine mainstage productions include Lluís Homar’s portrayal of Emperor Hadrian in Memorias de Adriano, María León in Electra, Tao Dance Theater’s 13 & 14, and classic texts by Shakespeare and Valle-Inclán.
  • El agua de Valencia explores Lope de Vega’s exile through musical theater while Querencia celebrates Hongaresa de Teatre’s 30th anniversary with a communal ritual in the Plaza Mayor.
  • For the first time, the Off program is entirely Valencian, showcasing circus, immersive theater, dance and site-specific works by creators from all three provinces.
  • Artist David Montero will lead a mediation project with historic center residents in an immersive theatrical walk on July 31 and August 1.
