Overview
- The festival kicked off July 31 with ‘Turismointerior Vol#9 Sagunt,’ an immersive street-theater walk by David Montero featuring Ciutat Vella residents’ stories
- Declan Donellan’s production of Shakespeare’s earliest comedy, Los dos hidalgos de Verona, adapted by Nick Ormerod and co-produced by Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico, Cheek by Jowl and LaZona Teatro, premiered at the Teatro Romano
- Science Minister Diana Morant, Sagunto Mayor Darío Moreno and regional culture officials joined the inaugural night as organizers press for sustained funding from Madrid
- All performances offer sensory-access services—including adapted surtitles, audiodescription, individual magnetic loops and amplified sound with headphones—to ensure full inclusion
- Organized by the Institut Valencià de Cultura with municipal and provincial partners, the festival runs through August 23 with 18 mainstage and Off productions, including the first fully Valencian Off strand
