SAG-AFTRA Ratifies New TV Animation Contracts with AI Protections for Voice Actors

The newly ratified contracts ensure that 'voice actor' refers only to humans, alongside significant AI protections and wage increases.

Over 95% of SAG-AFTRA members voted in favor of the new three-year contracts, effective through June 30, 2026.
The contracts establish a requirement for actor consent before using their names for AI-generated voices and limit the use of AI to replicate voice actors.
Wage increases include 7% retroactively from July 1, 2023, followed by 4% and 3.5% increases in the subsequent years.
The agreements include new terms around foreign residuals, high-budget SVOD productions, late payments, and more.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth have been recognized as contractual holidays.
