SAG-AFTRA Foundation Appoints Charlotte Wells as CEO

She plans to increase annual fundraising by up to $5 million to broaden emergency assistance and training programs for SAG-AFTRA members

  • Charlotte Wells will succeed Cyd Wilson as CEO on January 1, 2026, with Wilson moving into a senior adviser and special projects role
  • Under Wilson’s 12-year tenure the foundation opened new Los Angeles and New York facilities and distributed over $21 million in emergency aid and $1.5 million in scholarships
  • Wells has set a target to raise an additional $3 million to $5 million each year to help the foundation expand its support offerings
  • The organization serves about 48,000 performers annually through in-person and online programs such as self-tape workshops, voiceover sessions and the Storyline Online series
  • Before joining SAG-AFTRA Foundation in 2017, Wells spent seven years as COO at GLAAD and has worked alongside Wilson for eight years
