  • The Hambantota High Court charged Senanayake with offering to rig games during the 2020 LPL by approaching teammate Tharindu Ratnayake and two others via phone from Dubai Sri Lanka’s Attorney General says this prosecution is the inaugural use of the 2019 statute targeting corruption in sport
  • Senanayake was arrested in September 2023 and released on bail pending his trial
  • The 40-year-old off-spinner claimed 78 wickets across one Test, 49 ODIs and 24 T20Is for Sri Lanka and was part of the 2014 T20 World Cup-winning squad
  • If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison or a fine of as much as 100 million rupees
