• Carolina Matovac, 25, went into major heart failure while the couple vacationed in France, Dahlin said in a joint statement.
• CPR was administered on multiple occasions for up to a couple of hours at a time, and she then spent weeks on life support before a matching donor heart was found.
• The transplant took place in France, and Matovac is now rehabilitating in Sweden, where she is described as on the path to a full recovery.
• Dahlin thanked medical teams at hospitals in Juan-les-Pins and Marseille, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, and Hogsbo Rehabilitation Center, and acknowledged support from the Sabres, the NHL, and the NHLPA, including physician Scott Delaney.
