• Dahlin disclosed the medical emergency and transplant in a letter published on the Sabres’ website on Sept. 19.
• Carolina Matovac fell suddenly ill in France early this summer, suffered major heart failure, and received prolonged CPR that Dahlin says saved her life.
• She spent multiple weeks on life support in a French hospital before receiving a donor heart and remains in care as recovery continues.
• Dahlin thanked care teams at Hospital Centre of Antibes Juan–Les–Pins, Hôpitaux Universitaires de Marseille, Sahlgrenska Hospital in Gothenburg, and Hogsbo Rehabilitation Center.
