Overview
- NHSRCL said on January 13 that the Sabarmati high-speed rail multimodal hub received an IGBC Gold Rating, the first IGBC-certified building tied to the Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train project.
- The design incorporates solar panels, landscaped terraces, efficient HVAC and lighting, low-flow fixtures, rainwater management, certified green materials, waste segregation, and optimized daylighting and ventilation.
- Located on the east side of the bullet train station, the hub connects Sabarmati’s railway stations, the metro and the BRTS through three travellator-equipped foot overbridges.
- The twin-building complex provides space for offices and retail, features a third-floor concourse with waiting lounges, shops and restaurants, and displays a stainless-steel mural depicting the Dandi March.
- Project metrics as of January 11 report 332 km of viaduct and 415 km of pier work completed, 17 river bridges plus PSC and steel bridges in place, over 490,000 noise barriers and about 4,800 OHE masts installed, with a Palghar tunnel breakthrough, 5 km of the BKC–Shilphata tunnel excavated, depot construction under way at Surat and Ahmedabad, and station works advancing in Gujarat and Maharashtra.
