Saanich Police Reaffirm Lindsay Buziak Case Is Active After Mother’s Public Plea

Police describe recent staffing changes as routine operations.

Overview

  • On Nov. 2, Lindsay Buziak’s mother posted a YouTube appeal saying she was told the active probe was ending and detectives were being reassigned because of limited resources.
  • In a Nov. 3 statement, Insp. Drew Robertson said the homicide investigation remains active and that investigator rotations are routine in long-term files, not a downgrade in priority.
  • The department says detectives and senior leaders stay in touch with Buziak’s parents and keep pursuing credible tips with help from partner agencies.
  • Buziak, a 24-year-old realtor, was fatally stabbed during a home showing on De Sousa Place on Feb. 2, 2008, and police have reported two people entered the house with her but no arrests have followed.
  • Police renewed their call for information, directing potential witnesses to contact Saanich police after the mother’s video was reposted by the Cold Case BC community.
