Ryggs Johnston, a rookie and world No. 953, won the men's Australian Open with an 18-under-par total, defeating Australia's Curtis Luck by three shots.
This victory marks Johnston's first professional title and earns him a spot in the 2025 British Open at Royal Portrush.
The tournament was Johnston's second start on the DP World Tour, following his qualification through Q-School earlier this year.
Jiyai Shin, a two-time British Open champion, secured her second Australian Open title with a 17-under-par finish, holding off a late surge by Ashleigh Buhai.
The dual-gender Australian Open featured men and women competing alternately on the same courses, with equal prize money for the second consecutive year.
