Ryder Cup Set for Spain’s Camiral Resort in 2031

Officials pointed to Camiral’s major-tour track record as justification for its 2031 Ryder Cup selection.

Overview

  • European Tour Group formally confirmed on July 22 that Camiral Golf & Wellness Resort near Girona will host the 2031 Ryder Cup.
  • The decision marks only the second time the event will be held in Spain and the fourth occasion on continental Europe since inception.
  • Guy Kinnings, chief executive of the European Tour Group, highlighted Camiral’s Stadium Course pedigree from DP World Tour events such as the Spanish Open.
  • José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, president of Spain’s Superior Sports Council, said the Cup will drive significant tourism and global media exposure for the region.
  • Camiral is also slated to host the Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship on the DP World Tour from 2028 through 2030 as part of its event build-up.
