Ryan Gee Jailed for Life Over Premeditated Stabbing of Probation Officer

Prosecutors described a planned assault carried out with knives and a BB gun.

Overview

  • Liverpool Crown Court imposed a life sentence on Ryan Gee, 35, with a minimum term before parole eligibility reported as 15 years and 193 days in court coverage and as 16 years by the CPS, after which he would remain on licence for life if released.
  • Gee attacked his probation officer during a scheduled appointment at The Pavilions in Preston on 22 July 2025 after arriving armed with two knives and an imitation firearm later identified as a BB gun.
  • The victim suffered four stab wounds, underwent extensive surgery at Royal Preston Hospital, spent about six weeks in care, and told the court her injuries and trauma will have a lasting impact.
  • During the incident he threatened a receptionist with the imitation firearm and a knife, left a letter blaming another probation officer, and investigators later recovered a notebook detailing grievances about the service.
  • Police arrived within minutes, tasered and arrested Gee at the scene, and officers provided urgent first aid to the victim before she was taken straight to surgery.
