Rutkowski Aims to Double Women’s Ironman Record with 60 in 60 Challenge

She has logged over 40 training hours weekly ahead of her July 13 start in Germany’s Oberpfalz with support from partner Jonas Deichmann.

Beim Werrataltriathlon in Thüringen hat Josefine Rutkowski 2023 einen Triathlon über die Olympische Distanz geschafft. Im Sommer 2025 peilt sie den Weltrekord im Extremtriathlon an und will an 60 Tagen 60 Mal über die komplette Ironman-Distanz gehen.

  • Rutkowski will attempt 60 Ironman triathlons between July 13 and September 10 in Dudenhofen and Speyer, covering 3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42 km running each day.
  • She plans to average roughly 13 hours per race, which would total 228 km swimming, 10,500 km cycling and 2,532 km running over the two months.
  • The current women’s record of 30 Ironman in 30 days is held by Austrian triathlete Alexandra Meixner.
  • The 35-year-old has maintained a training regimen exceeding 40 hours per week and brings experience from 18 long-distance races alongside Deichmann.
  • Jonas Deichmann, who set the men’s 120-in-120-day triathlon record in 2024, will join and support Rutkowski throughout her challenge.
