Russian Deputy Defense Minister Viktor Goremykin held a courtesy meeting with DPRK Defense Minister No Kwang Chol in Pyongyang on November 6, according to official statements.
Talks on November 5 brought together the Russian Military-Political General Department and the KPA’s General Political Bureau to discuss expanding cooperation and exchanges between their political directorates.
TASS reported that discussions focused on organizing military-political work in both militaries, with Goremykin describing an active expansion of bilateral ties.
The Russian delegation visited the Red Flag Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kim Il Sung Military University and laid flowers at the Liberation Monument in Pyongyang.
KCNA named attendees including Pak Yong Il and Vice Foreign Minister Kim Jong Gyu, noted the presence of Russian Ambassador Aleksandr Matsegora, and said a welcoming reception was held.
