Russia’s Final Voting Day Sees Record Turnout in Rostov and Rapid Electronic Balloting in Moscow

Preliminary results will be released after polls close at 20:00 local time.

  • Rostov Oblast reported a record 48.63% turnout by 12:00, with 1,518,083 voters including distance electronic ballots.
  • Chuvashia said turnout reached 45.46% by 10:00, including 178,035 electronic votes with an 89.6% online participation rate.
  • In Moscow’s extraterritorial pilot, about 11.9 thousand of nearly 18 thousand registered voters cast ballots on 14 terminals, typically completing the process in under a minute.
  • The Central Election Commission reported 230 cyberattacks on its portal and e‑voting systems and logged 1,070 campaign-related appeals, including 194 alleging violations, as police opened eight cases mostly over false threats.
  • Following an assault on a precinct chair in Saratov, the CEC said it will appeal to KPRF leader Gennady Zyuganov and a court hearing was set, while KPRF’s Alexander Safronov in Krasnodar alleged large-scale falsifications.
