Overview
- Under a government decree, licenses that expired or were due to expire from January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2025 were extended automatically for three years.
- The extension period is counted from the license’s actual expiration date, according to the Interior Ministry.
- Once that three-year period runs out, the document cannot be extended again and must be replaced.
- The procedure for issuing a replacement license remains unchanged and does not require exams.
- The automatic extension regime itself concludes on January 1, 2026, so expirations after December 31, 2025 do not qualify.
