Russian MoD Says Air Defenses Intercepted 1,193 Ukrainian Drones in a Week

RIA cites defense ministry data indicating most interceptions occurred over European Russia.

  • Overnight on January 12, air defenses downed 13 drones over Russian territory, with four over Rostov region, two over Crimea, two over Adygea, two over Kursk, two over the Black Sea, and one over Voronezh, according to the MoD.
  • In the past 24 hours, the ministry reported shooting down two guided aerial bombs along with 130 fixed-wing unmanned aircraft.
  • From 08:00 to 13:00 on January 11, seven drones were destroyed over Belgorod region (four) and Kursk region (three), the MoD said.
  • RIA’s review of official figures counted at least 1,193 Ukrainian UAVs intercepted over Russian territory during the latest week.
  • The agency highlighted peak daily totals of 356 and 360 drones on January 5 and 6, with the bulk of reported activity in the European part of Russia.
