Russian Missile Strike Kills Four in Lviv, Ukraine's Safe Haven

  • Four people were killed and at least 37 were injured after Russian cruise missiles struck an apartment building in Lviv, Ukraine.
  • The attack was the largest on Lviv's civilian infrastructure since Russia invaded Ukraine last year.
  • Sixty apartments were destroyed and the mayor announced two days of mourning for the youngest victim, a 21-year-old woman, and the oldest, a 95-year-old survivor of World War II.
  • Seven people have been rescued from the rubble so far but the search continues as homeless individuals are being sheltered nearby.
  • The missiles were launched from Russian warships and submarines in the Black Sea, with Ukrainian air defenses intercepting seven of the 10 fired.
