Russian helicopter pilot defects to Ukraine, urges others to follow

Russian pilot Maksym Kuzminov defected to Ukraine in a Mi-8 helicopter after months of planning with Ukrainian intelligence.
Kuzminov said he defected to avoid participating in Russia's "genocide" against Ukrainians.
Ukraine helped smuggle Kuzminov's family out of Russia and offered financial incentives for his defection.
Kuzminov flew to Ukraine undetected at low altitude before urging other Russian troops to follow his example.
Two other Russian service members who were on Kuzminov's helicopter were killed after refusing to surrender to Ukraine.
