Russia to Introduce Family Tax Payment in 2026
Eligible working parents will receive refunds of income tax paid above a 6% calculated rate.
Overview
- President Vladimir Putin announced the measure at an economic meeting on December 11.
- The program targets families with two or more children whose average per-person income last year was below 1.5 regional subsistence minimums.
- Each working parent will be able to reclaim part of last year’s personal income tax, with amounts above the 6% calculation returned to the family.
- Applications must be submitted annually between June 1 and October 1.
- Officials say the new payment complements existing family benefits, and Putin stressed the process must be simple and unobtrusive.
