Overview
- Russia's Defense Ministry said the Aerospace Forces downed a Ukrainian Su-27 on January 1 in a statement carried by RIA Novosti.
- The ministry reported cumulative totals since the campaign began of 670 aircraft, 283 helicopters and 106,444 drones destroyed.
- It also cited 641 air-defense systems, 26,826 tanks and other armored vehicles, 1,634 multiple rocket launchers, 32,303 artillery pieces and 50,530 military vehicles eliminated.
- In a separate update the ministry said air defenses intercepted 58 Ukrainian drones between 8:00 and 16:00 MSK over seven regions and the Azov Sea.
- The breakdown included 24 downed over Belgorod, 13 over Crimea, 10 over the Azov Sea, five over Tatarstan, three over Krasnodar and one each over Kursk, Lipetsk and Rostov.
