Russia Says It Downed ATACMS Over Voronezh as It Strikes Ukrainian Rail and Energy Targets

Moscow presents battlefield updates, intercepted audio, POW video to depict a weakening Ukrainian front.

Overview

  • Russia’s Defense Ministry reported shooting down four U.S.-made ATACMS over Voronezh, saying debris damaged a gerontology center, an orphanage and a private home without casualties, and claimed the destruction of two launchers involved.
  • The ministry said operational aviation, drones, missile forces and artillery hit Ukrainian railway and power infrastructure used for military purposes, while a partisan coordinator cited by RIA said a base with bunkers in Stryi, Lviv region, was struck.
  • On the Zaporizhzhia axis, Russia reported an Uragan strike near Mala Tokmachka that killed up to 20 Ukrainian soldiers and a separate 'Vostok' action that destroyed vehicles, a shelter and a platoon.
  • Russian units near Kupyansk said they found two abandoned Ukrainian weapons depots in the Kolontaevka area and were conducting demining, as intercepts released to RIA described Ukrainian troops leaving positions on the Dnipropetrovsk front.
  • Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov rejected as baseless Polish claims of Russian involvement in a rail sabotage case, and RIA highlighted Western commentators urging Kyiv to pursue negotiations or warning of political strain.
