Russia Says FPV Drones Destroyed Ukrainian Tank, R-18 UAVs in Donetsk

The Defense Ministry attributes the reported kills to the Southern grouping’s drone teams conducting reconnaissance-led sorties.

Overview

  • Russia’s Defense Ministry said UAV operators identified a Ukrainian tank in a forested area near the Kleban-Byk reservoir on the Konstantinovka axis and destroyed it with FPV strike drones.
  • The ministry reported that two Ukrainian R-18 octocopters were detected during nighttime operations near Shcherbinovka and Plesheevek and were hit using FPV drones.
  • In a separate update, the Southern grouping’s units were said to have destroyed a Ukrainian vehicle hidden at a private property and a UAV control point in the DPR.
  • The ministry said a reconnaissance element from the 6th Motor Rifle Division located the control node, which was then struck by a “Molniya” drone along with the operating team.
  • The accounts were published by RIA Novosti on September 24, citing the ministry, and have not been independently verified in the available reporting.
