Russia’s Defense Ministry said duty air-defense units intercepted and destroyed five Ukrainian UAVs overnight into January 9.
Two drones were reported downed over Bryansk region, with one each over Belgorod, Rostov and Oryol.
The ministry described the intercepted aircraft as airplane-type unmanned systems.
The statement, carried by RIA Novosti, provided locations of interceptions but reported no damage or injuries.
In a separate weekly update, the ministry claimed air defenses downed 1,327 airplane-type drones along with other munitions.
