Russia Lifts Most Flight Restrictions After Day of Disruptions at Moscow Airports

Authorities described the curbs as routine safety measures triggered by the “Kover” alert.

  • Restrictions were imposed and later lifted at several regional airports through the night and early December 13, including Makhachkala, Vladikavkaz, Magas, Kazan, Izhevsk, Kaluga, Yaroslavl, Penza, Saratov and Cheboksary.
  • Sheremetyevo reported handling 25 arrivals and 21 departures during one alert window, accepting seven diversions, and recording 55 departure delays, two longer than two hours.
  • Airports reported calm conditions in passenger terminals with assistance provided under federal aviation rules.
