Russia Lifts Flight Limits at Several Airports as New Temporary Curbs Hit Others

Rosaviatsia says the rolling airport controls are temporary steps for flight safety.

Overview

  • Rosaviatsia removed restrictions at Moscow’s Vnukovo and the Zhukovsky airport early on January 4 after brief limits the night before.
  • Earlier curbs were also lifted at Saratov, Yaroslavl, Volgograd and Gelendzhik, restoring normal acceptance and departure of aircraft.
  • Temporary restrictions remain in place at Krasnodar, where additional limits were imposed beyond the existing NOTAM framework.
  • Krasnodar’s regular NOTAM allows scheduled flights between 09:00 and 19:00 MSK, but extra constraints were applied as a safety measure.
  • One flight bound for Volgograd diverted to an alternate aerodrome during the restriction period, underscoring the localized operational impact.
