Overview

  • Overnight of July 6–7, Russia launched 101 drones and four missiles at Ukraine, with air defenses downing 75 of the drones.
  • Kharkiv suffered two waves of Shahed drone strikes on July 7 that killed one civilian, injured more than 80 people including children, and damaged residential and transport infrastructure.
  • From July 7–8, the Sumy region endured 120 strikes across 34 settlements, resulting in four civilian deaths and widespread damage to homes and farms.
  • An overnight attack in the Vyshhorod district of Kyiv region damaged apartment buildings, a preschool and vehicles and triggered a war-crimes case under Article 438 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code.
  • President Zelenskyy has made air defense Ukraine’s top priority, urging international partners for advanced systems and accelerating domestic interceptor drone production.
