Overview

  • Russia deployed 407 attack drones and about 44 missiles overnight against multiple regions including Kiev, Chernihiv and Ternopil as Ukraine’s air defenses intercepted the majority of threats.
  • Four civilians were killed and 49 wounded across Ukraine, among them the wife, daughter and one-year-old grandson of the Pryluky fire chief whose home was struck.
  • Ukrainian Intelligence carried out long-range drone raids on at least four Russian airbases, destroying 10-13 strategic bombers and damaging over 40 other aircraft.
  • The Kremlin’s defense ministry characterized the barrage as retaliation for alleged Ukrainian “terrorist attacks”; Kyiv condemned the strikes for indiscriminate targeting of civilians.
  • President Zelensky appealed for maximum international sanctions on Russia, warning that only sustained pressure can stop the nightly assaults and end the war.
