Russia Launches Hypersonic Oreshnik in Mass Strike on Ukraine

Overview

• At least four people were killed and roughly two dozen injured in Kyiv, where 20 residential buildings and the Qatari embassy were damaged, according to Ukrainian officials.
• Ukraine reported 36 missiles and 242 drones were launched, with air defenses intercepting 18 missiles and 226 drones during the overnight assault.
• Heating and power networks were heavily disrupted, with half of Kyiv’s residential buildings without heat and about 417,000 households without electricity, after earlier outages left over one million without heat or water in Dnipropetrovsk.
• Ukrainian authorities said critical infrastructure was struck near Lviv close to the EU border, with local reports pointing to the Stryi gas storage site as a likely target.
