Overview

  • Russia unleashed 101 drones overnight on July 6–7 as part of a week-long aerial campaign totaling around 1,270 drones, 39 missiles and nearly 1,000 glide bombs.
  • Ukraine’s air defenses neutralized 75 of the incoming drones as President Zelensky urged allies to supply more air defense systems and ramped up domestic interceptor drone production.
  • Russian strikes in Kharkiv killed a 34-year-old woman and injured 82 people, including eight children, while drones damaged homes, a preschool and vehicles in Vyshhorod.
  • Investigators opened a criminal case under Article 438 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code to probe the strikes on civilian areas as war crimes.
  • Moscow’s intensified attacks have stalled US-led ceasefire talks and prompted the Kremlin to dismiss its transport minister after drone threats grounded flights at major airports.
