Overview
- The Russian Cabinet signed a resolution prolonging temporary import and export restrictions on specified goods, raw materials and equipment until December 31, 2027, with state media reporting the signed text.
- Higher import customs duties on defined categories remain in force through 2027, covering items such as meat and fish products, canned vegetables and fruits, confectionery and flour products, pasta, sauces, mineral water, beer, soluble and roasted coffee, and spark plugs.
- The extended restrictions apply to the export of various equipment classes including technological and medical devices, agricultural machinery, electrical apparatus, turbines, nuclear reactors, fiber‑optic cables, aircraft, radar instruments, firearms, batteries and metalworking machines.
- The resolution maintains the option to limit imports of seeds for key crops from countries designated as unfriendly, including potatoes, wheat, meslin, rye, barley, corn, soybeans, rapeseed, sunflower and sugar beet.
- The extension was adopted in execution of a presidential decree and retains the product lists established by government decisions in 2022 and 2023.
