Overview

• The operation targeted facilities producing forged passports, diplomas, medical certificates, driver’s licenses and other documents bearing state details.
• Most counterfeit items were printed on official blanks with falsified data, increasing their apparent authenticity.
• Fourteen suspects have been arrested and travel restrictions were imposed on 45 additional individuals.
• Investigators identified at least 200 online resources used to recruit clients, with orders shipped by mail or delivered by couriers across multiple regions including Moscow, the Moscow Region, Tatarstan, Crimea and Sevastopol.
• Criminal cases were opened under Article 327 part 4 of the Russian Criminal Code, which allows for prison terms of up to six years.
