Overview

  • The sides pledged to exchange all seriously injured or ill prisoners and captives aged 18 to 25, and to repatriate about 6,000 bodies of fallen soldiers.
  • Ukraine’s drone offensive, dubbed Operation Telaraña, reportedly destroyed around 40 Russian combat aircraft, including strategic bombers, in a deep‐strike on rear air bases.
  • Moscow presented ceasefire terms requiring Kyiv to withdraw forces from Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson before instituting any truce.
  • Kyiv insisted on binding international security guarantees and the unrestricted right to pursue military alliances and will review Russia’s proposals over the coming week.
  • Turkish President Erdoğan proposed a late-June summit for Presidents Zelenski and Putin, and U.S. President Trump said he is open to joining as a mediator if it takes place.
