Moscow airports moved to coordination-only operations following fresh limits that caused significant delays.

  • Vnukovo and Domodedovo saw new restrictions on January 4 that were later modified so both handle flights only by coordination with authorities.
  • More than 100 flights were delayed and at least three were canceled across the Moscow area, based on airport boards cited by RIA Novosti.
  • Zhukovsky lifted restrictions, regional updates included new limits at Kaluga, Volgograd and Ivanovo, Saratov saw curbs removed, and Yaroslavl had limits lifted then reintroduced.
  • Separately, Puerto Rico’s main airport reported widespread suspensions by U.S. airlines after the FAA temporarily closed part of Caribbean airspace.
