Russell Cook Secures Algerian Visa, Continues Africa Run

After overcoming visa complications, Cook resumes his mission to run the length of Africa, raising over £150,000 for charity so far.

Russell Cook, a man from Worthing, West Sussex, is running the length of Africa, aiming to complete 360 marathons in 240 days.
The challenge, which began at South Africa's most southerly point, will finish at Tunisia's most northerly point, covering approximately 9,320 miles (14,500km).
Cook's journey was threatened by visa complications at the Algerian border with Mauritania, but he has now secured a multi-entry visa from the UK's Algerian embassy.
So far, Cook has been on the road for 283 days, run over 7,600 miles (12,200km) across 13 different countries, and raised over £150,000 for The Running Charity.
Despite challenges including health scares, geopolitical issues, and an armed robbery, Cook remains determined to complete his mission, with over 4,000km of running still left to do.
