Russell Brand Faces First Sexual Abuse Lawsuit in UK Court

The comedian denies all allegations as police investigations and legal actions continue in both the UK and US.

An anonymous claimant filed a personal injury sexual abuse lawsuit against Russell Brand in London’s High Court in February 2025.
This is the first known lawsuit against Brand in the UK, following multiple allegations of rape, sexual assault, and emotional abuse spanning 2006 to 2013.
The Metropolitan Police have passed evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service, which is reviewing the possibility of criminal charges against Brand.
Separate investigations by the BBC and Channel 4 revealed concerns about Brand’s behavior during his time at both organizations, with staff describing a culture of fear that prevented complaints.
Brand, who now resides in Florida, continues to deny all allegations, claiming they are part of a targeted campaign against him.
