'RuPaul's Drag Race' Season 16 Set to Premiere with 14 New Queens and a New Twist

The popular reality show returns to MTV with a two-part premiere, a talent show Maxi Challenge, and a new 'Rate-A-Queen' twist.

The 16th season of 'RuPaul's Drag Race' will premiere on MTV on Friday, January 5, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
The new season will feature 14 queens competing for the title of 'America's Next Drag Superstar' and a cash prize of $200,000.
The premiere will be split into two parts, both featuring the talent show Maxi Challenge, themed for MTV's Spring Break and the 'Queen Choice Awards'.
A new twist, 'Rate-A-Queen', will require the queens to rank each other's performances to determine the week's tops and bottoms.
The aftershow 'RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked' will air immediately after new episodes.
